The Peachtree City Library will be hosting a series of workshops designed to help promote a better understanding of important financial topics. Workshops will be taught by local accredited professionals with experience in the financial services industry.

Sessions will be in the Floy Farr Room at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Each session is designed to last 90 minutes and is free to the public, but registration is required.

The first workshop, Savvy Social Security, is scheduled for Tuesday, March 22. At this workshop, attendees will learn:

· 5 factors to help you decide when to apply for benefits.

· Why checking your earnings record for accuracy is a must.

· How to coordinate benefits with your spouse and other sources of retirement income.

· How to minimize taxes on Social Security benefits.

· How to make decisions now that will have a positive impact on the benefits you receive over your lifetime.

Other workshops to be held as part of the Financial Literacy Initiative in 2016 will include: Financial Planning Basics, College Planning, and Planning for Long-Term Care. Dates to be announced soon.

Space is limited and registration is required. Registration for Savvy Social Security is now open at http://savvyss.eventbrite.com.
