East Coweta played until the final day of the GHSA state softball championships.
They wound their way through five games over three days in the AAAAAA bracket, finishing in third place.
Opening Thursday night with a 7-1 win over Archer, they came back first thing Friday morning and lost 4-3 to eventual champion Mill Creek.
Two more Friday games were both wins, 6-3 over South Forsyth and 7-4 over Archer to force a game Saturday morning against Brookwood, where they came up short by a score of 2-1.
Mill Creek defeated Brookwood 5-2 to take the title.
