The Landmark middle school boys track team, after running undefeated all season, capped off the year by winning the middle school state championship last weekend at Parkview High School.

It is Landmark’s second middle school championship in the last four years.

With only the 300-meter hurdles and the 4×400-meter relay left to run, Landmark trailed Elbert County by five points.

The team took first place in both events to capture the crown from more than 77 teams in all classifications from across Georgia.

The boys also set new state records in the 4×800-meter and 4×400-meter relay events.

The boys and girls teams combined for a third-place finish overall.
