The Fayette County Historical Society will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by inviting the mayor of Tyrone, Eric Dial.
The town got its name from the Irish railroad workers who laid tracks through the town in the late 1800’s.
The meeting is Sunday, March 15, at 3 p.m. at the society headquarters, which is located at the corner of Lee and Johnson streets, directly behind the American Legion Post House.
Dial will give an update on the town and its phenomenal growth over the past 20 years.
Nonmembers are welcome to attend.
