A celebration of Motown and soul music, “Masters of Soul,” is scheduled for the Centre for Performing and Visual Arts of Coweta County this month.

Some of the most iconic names in the history of popular music were discovered during the 1960’s in the Motor City of Detroit and their music became known as Motown and soul.

“Masters of Soul” is a celebration of those artists, their music and their style — costumes from that era will be featured during the performance. The choreographed tribute to both male and female groups will backed up by a live band.

The show is set for Saturday, Jan. 31, at 7 p.m. at the Centre, 1523 Lower Fayetteville Road, Newnan.

“Masters of Soul” also will feature the TFC Dance Band and The Fabulous Crooners Doo-Wop singers. Tickets are $15. For information, go to thecentreonline.net or call 770-254-ARTS.
