Accomplished opera singer to perform spirituals

Indra Thomas may be the best-kept opera secret in America, but European opera houses know her well.

She possesses a full blown lyrico-spinto soprano and is one of the finest Verdi singers around. Best of all, she will perform “An Evening of Spirituals” on Tuesday, Jan. 27, in Newnan.

As the daughter of a Baptist minister, she has all the instincts for spirituals.

The performance begins at 7 p.m. at the Centre for Performing and Visual Arts of Coweta County, 1523 Lower Fayetteville Road, Newnan.
