0Savannah Mathis, a previous resident of Fayetteville, won Majorette Queen of America 2015 in July at Drum Majorettes of America’s National finals. She is the daughter of Mike and Shirley Mathis, formerly of Fayetteville. She is a 2010 graduate of Whitewater High School where she was the featured twirler her senior year. Mathis also graduated magna cum laude from Georgia Southern University in May with a degree in biology and a minor in chemistry. She intends on pursuing a degree in medicine specializing in oncology.
