Another screening of the movie, “Murder in Coweta County” will be held at The Carnegie today and follows commentary by producer, Dick Atkins, at 6:30 p.m. The movie, “Murder in Coweta County”, strikes a familiar chord among the residents of Coweta County. This sensational murder trial, held in 1948, put this rural Georgia County “on the map”. As a result, Coweta County receives many visitors touring this area with questions and interest in the various locations that relate to this story.

A tomato tasting party is from 9 a.m. to noon at the Peachtree City Farmers Market in Aberdeen Village Shopping Center parking lot in Peachtree City If you’d like to tickle your taste-buds and sample some tried-and-true heirloom favorites as well as some newer hybrids, don’t miss this old-fashioned tomato tasting party, sponsored by Down to Earth Organics Association. Club members will bring cut-up samples of their favorite tomatoes for attendees at the market to taste. Fayette Woman is sponsoring and donating prizes for the “Best Cherry Tomato,” “Best Heirloom Tomato,” “Best Other-than-Heirloom Tomato” and a prize for the “Biggest Tomato” by weight. Today is the second Market Day event of 2014, at the Lane Brown Gazebo in Downtown Fayetteville. Fayetteville Main Street welcomes everyone to attend this open air market featuring a variety of vendors showcasing their homemade or homegrown products. The market will be open from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Subsequent Market Days will be held on the third Saturday in August, and on the fourth Saturday of September and October.

Full day musical theatre camp is from today through July 25 at Legacy Theatre in Tyrone. The camp is for ages 7-17 and runs from 9 a.m.-5 p,m. The cost is $300. This camp includes theatre games, training in voice, acting, dance and even a talent show. Campers perform a showcase on the final day of camp and also as pre-show entertainment for “The Music Man!”

A book signing is today from 9 a.m. to noon at the Peachtree City Library. Local author and illustrator Gerrie Hubbard will sign copies of her book, “A is for an Alligator Watching.” She studied at the Savannah College of Art and Design, and graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her first book, full of rhyming text and original watercolor illustrations, is sure to delight children.

The Senoia Area Historical Society is staging its third annual Moth Ball tonight at 8 p.m. This year we will be dancing under the stars on the lovely grounds of the Veranda Historic Bed & Breakfast Inn located at 252 Seavy Street, Senoia. Music will be provided by DJ Ray McKnight. It’s a BYOB event so you can enjoy your favorite beverage. Iced tea and water will be provided. Light fare will be served.
