Members of the First Presbyterian Church of Peachtree City worked with Stop Hunger Now, an organization committed to end hunger across the globe.

Members of First Presbyterian of PTC were challenged by the Rev. Morgan Hay to donate $40 during the 40 days of lent, with a goal of $3,600.

That goal was exceeded and over 10,000 meals designed to provide the greatest nutritional value in the most efficient packaging were made.

Stop Hunger Now meals consist of rice, soy protein, dried vegetables, and 21 essential vitamins and minerals, which are distributed through developmental programs to reverse the effects of malnutrition on children and adults.

Stop Hunger Now also provides meals in response to crisis relief.

More than 75 volunteers from First Presbyterian packed the meals, with support from the Stop Hunger Now team.

“I am so proud of our congregation for helping in the work to end hunger by donating their money and volunteering their time to pack 10, 152 meals with the help of the Stop Hunger Now organization,” said Hay.
