Motorists traveling through Fayetteville should expect sporadic traffic delays as Hollywood comes to town. Traffic through downtown will experience some delays through the end of the week as filming continues in and around the Holiday Inn for “Term Life.”
The movie starring Vince Vaughn, Bill Paxton and Hailey Seinfield is being filmed in and around the Holiday Inn located at Ga. Highway 85 and Lanier Avenue, across from the historic old Fayette County Courthouse.
With the filming comes the intermittent need to stop traffic along Hwy. 85 and Lanier Avenue, said Fayetteville Police spokesman Mike Whitlow. The intermittent traffic stops could continue through the end of the week, with Friday expected to be the final day of filming, Whitlow said.
“The production company is trying to keep it from being a burden,” Whitlow said.
Though Pinewood Atlanta Studios is just emerging as a film location, areas of Fayetteville and Fayette County have already been subject to traffic stops for filming. Such was the case during the filming of Lifetime television’s “Drop Dead Diva” which filmed several times along Ga. Highway 54, said Whitlow.
Traffic delays also are not uncommon in nearby Senoia, where numerous movies and television shows have been filmed over the years and where the entire downtown retail district is sometimes closed for short periods for productions such as AMC’s “The Walking Dead.”
