Shane Donevant is named an Eagle Scout

Eagle project will provide shade at sports complex in Peachtree City

Shane Donevant from Troop 175 at the Peachtree City United Methodist Church is the county’s latest Eagle Scout. He is a junior at Starrs Mill High School. Shane appeared before the Flint River Council Eagle Scout Board Dec.10 and was judged to meet the standards and high ideals of an Eagle Scout. For his Eagle Scout project Shane designed and built a shaded pathway and picnic area at the Baseball / Soccer complex in PTC. This required him to clear out a wooded area, line a path with landscape timbers, build and move 3 picnic tables to the site. The final task was to spread wood chip mulch over the entire area.
