Christian Youth Theater Atlanta, an after-school theater arts training organization, is starting a new location in Fayette County.
An organizational “Vision Night” meeting is set for Friday, Jan. 31, at Peachtree City First Presbyterian Church with separate sessions for parents and students.
Students, ages 6-18, should arrive at 6 p.m. Friday for a short training session. The parents’ session will follow at 7 p.m. to meet the leadership team, learn more about CYT in the area, then sit back and see what the students have learned in the short hour they have been with the team.
Christian Youth Theater (CYT) is an after school theater arts training program, founded in 1981 in San Diego, Calif., and has grown to be the largest youth theater in the nation.There are dozens of branches across the country providing training to approximately 10,000 students every year.
CYT stands at the forefront in its commitment to the highest standards of excellence. Instructors are professionals, qualified in teaching and/or performing and share their mission statement, values, objectives and goals. Children of all religions are welcome.
Headed by local directors Annie Hale, Rachel Green and JoBeth Braddy, CYT will offer weekly, after-school classes in music theater training at PTC Presbyterian on Tuesdays, beginning Feb. 11, and will end the inaugural session with a Showcase on April 29. CYT also will hold its first production camp in Peachtree City this summer and will perform its first summer show.
