The “Grand Opening” for the new office of the Fayette County Republican Party starts at 6:30 pm. This new office is located at 174 Glynn St, Fayetteville, located off Ga. Hwy 85 behind Captain D’s and Arby’s.
This Christmas season, The Legacy Theatre invites you to step back in time as “The Andrews Sisters: Christmas of Swing” returns to the stage in Tyrone at 8 p.m. tonight. More than just a musical review of 1940s swing music, this family-friendly show is a hilarious, endearing,and at times poignant homage to America’s greatest generation. The show takes place on Christmas Eve, 1944, in a New York City rehearsal hall. As the war rages on, and with the Allied forces still several months away from a victory in Europe, Patty, Maxene, and LaVerne Andrews come together for one final rehearsal of their famed USO concert. Tickets are $25 for adults, $22 for seniors and students, and $15 for children 12 and under. “The Sounds of Christmas” concert by The Peachtree Wind Ensemble featuring the North Fayette United Methodist Chancel Festival Choir and Agape Ringers Handbell Choir is today at 7:30 p.m. The concert is free and is at North Fayette United Methodist Church at 847 New Hope Road in Fayetteville.
On Dasher, on Dancer, on Prancer… to the fifth annual Bedford Dasher 5K Run/Walk and 200m Elf Run today. The race will begin and end at The Bedford School, located at 5665 Milam Road in Fairburn. 93.3 The Joy FM will be broadcasting live from the race where there will be activities for the whole family including craft vendors, a bake sale, and a children’s Elf Run that includes a t-shirt, race ribbon, crafts and digital picture with Santa. Awards will be presented to age group, overall and masters race winners and participants will receive a long sleeved race T-shirt. Walkers are welcome. If you can’t run/walk, why not register as a Phantom Runner? $20 includes T-shirt. Rain or shine, the Elf Run will start at 8:45 a.m. and 5K Run/Walk at 9 a.m. on school grounds.
