The tradition of providing Christmas gifts for the clients in Georgia’s regional hospitals continues this year. The donation period is underway for the 2013 Mayors’ Motorcade. Gifts can be dropped off by Dec. 3 at Fayetteville City Hall or at the Fayetteville Fire Department.
The Mayors’ Christmas Motorcade has been in operation since 1958 and will continue again this year to provide gifts to clients living at the state’s regional hospitals, according to the Ga. Municipal Association.
The list of potential gifts is all-encompassing, with GMA noting that most of those receiving the gifts are adults of whom 69 percent are male and 31 percent are female.
A sampling of the gifts include jeans or pants, shorts, sweaters, gloves, socks, baseball caps, bras, pajamas and slippers, drawing pads, games, puzzles, books, wallets, toiletry items, DVD movies (G and PG only) and snack items. Christmas cards, bows and wrapping paper would also be appreciated.
Gift donations should be dropped off by Dec. 3 at Fayetteville City Hall located by 240 South Glynn Street or the Fayetteville Fire Dept. located at 95 Johnson Avenue.
