This Saturday, the fire-pits will light up at 3 a.m. for the ninth annual Chicken-Que at Peachtree City United Methodist Church. The United Methodist Men will once again man the grills for what has become a much anticipated event. Earlier, the front lawn of the church at 400 Windgate Road (corner of Peachtree Parkway and Windgate Road) will be converted to a 60-foot long grill ready to cook to perfection over 2,000 chicken halves for the event.

Cole slaw, baked beans and a slice of bread complete the meal which is still priced at only $8.

The Chicken-Que is a take-out only event and those purchasing dinners in advance don’t even have to get out of their car. They can drive through the campus between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Sept. 21 and have their hot meals handed to them. The UMM will also provide meals to first responders on duty on Sept. 21. Those purchasing an extra ticket will help cover the cost of a meal for a police officer or firefighter.

Proceeds from the Chicken-Que go to support the maintenance of the PTCUMC Scout Lodge.
