The Georgia Games has incorporated some exciting additions to their BMX Championship this year. This year the event is June 27 at 8 p.m .at the Peachtree City Track.
Peachtree City BMX (PTCBMX) and USABMX have partnered with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to host this Olympic Day Celebration.
This is a double win for all riders because they not only get to compete in this competition, but they will also have the opportunity to meet with several retired Olympians. These athletes, from several different sports, will be present to talk with participants about their individual Olympic experience.
Any Georgian can participate in these events, no matter age, ability level or location. In the past, participants have ranged in age from 3 to 87, and represented over 139 counties and 549 cities in Georgia.
Riders do not have to be members of the track in order to participate. Each athlete will receive a Georgia Games T-shirt, an Olympic Certificate to celebrate their participation, and medals will be awarded to the first, second and third place riders. Riders will also receive a pack of cards with pictures of the 2012 Olympians, Georgia Games face tattoos and PTCBMX face tattoos.
The cost of the event is $15 and walk-up registration will begin at 5 p.m. and last until 7:30 p.m.. In order to register for this year’s events, please visit our website at www.georgiagames.org.
