Although some complain about how quickly Christmas decorations go up in stores so soon after Halloween (before in some cases), many others would argue why not turn one’s attention to such a happy holiday? People can get into the Christmas spirit this Saturday with the return of Noel November,a free open house at the Flat Creek Country Club in Peachtree City.

Noel November is the Fayette County Board of REALTORS annual holiday event featuring a winter wonderland of beautifully decorated trees, wreaths, gift baskets, table settings, mantle and table arrangements and more celebrating the Christmas season, which marks the Fayette Realtors long standing tradition of giving back to the community.

The event started in 1994 as a way to raise monies for the Fayette Youth Protection Home and has expanded to include 4 to 5 selected organizations who apply annually. The month of November was chosen to incorporate the Christmas theme, traditionally a time people think of giving to others.

Fayette Realtors work very hard to put on this event.  The Noel November committee starts at the beginning of each year planning and preparing to make each year the best event possible.  2012 committee chair, Michaele Gatheridge, vice-chair, Vickie Butler, and their multiple members have planned a wonderful “Home for the Holidays” themed event at Flat Creek Country Club on Saturday, November 3.

At Noel November, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. visitors can listen to local school choirs sing songs from the season, visit with Santa Claus, peruse a winter wonderland of trees, wreaths and Christmas collectibles and take a look at the items up for bid in the evening auction.

The open house during the day is free. The event at night, which lasts from 6-10:30 p.m., will feature entertainment, dancing, appetizers, a cash bar and a silent and live auction from 8-10 p.m. The donations will benefit the following Fayette County organizations: Promise Place, Fayette Care Clinic, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Fayette Youth Protection Home and The Breast Cancer Survivor’s Network.
Tickets for the evening event are $30 if purchased by Nov. 1 and $40 at the door.
