It was a beautiful day at Braelinn Golf Club for the Fayette Chamber’s annual Business on the Green Classic presented by The Southern Federal Credit Union.

This tournament is a yearly event, providing networking and visibility opportunities for members and raising funds to help the chamber continue its mission to strengthen the local business community.

The tennis tournament, presented by NCR, was kicked off with an instructional clinic with tennis pro Randy Rye. Osmar Faruqi took first place with Chip Griggers coming in second. Awards were also presented for accuracy (Bill Harris, Jan Cooper) and most enthusiastic player (Charlotte Bridges).

Golf low gross winners were: 1st Low Gross – Kendall Olson, Phillip Anderson, Mark Martin and Everett Sparr; Men’s Longest Drive – Shawn Rogan; Women’s Longest Drive – Reda Rowall; Men’s Closest to the Pin – David Skidmore; Women’s Closest to the Pin – Lisa Jackson. Drew Dobson was the winner of The Big Putt contest.

At the post-tournament reception, prizes were awarded to the winners and, for the grand finale of the evening, Dr. Jonathan Bender was announced as the winner of the $10,000 drawing.

The chamber would like to thank the Business on the Green Committee members, all the sponsors, volunteers and participants who worked diligently to make this event possible. Photos from the tournament are posted on the chamber’s Facebook page.

In September, the chamber will host the Community Expo at New Hope Baptist Church to give local businesses an opportunity to showcase their products and services. For information on how your business can participate in the Expo, contact the chamber at 770-461-9983.
