Monopoly tournament returns April 30


The third annual Peachtree City Monopoly tournament is scheduled for Saturday, April 30 at the Towne Club at 201 Crosstown Road. Players will be competing for $200 in cash prizes and over $250 in gift certificates from local restaurants and markets.  Raffles during the first round of play will see most of the gift certificates given away.
There is no entry fee. Players are encouraged to pre-register by emailing . When pre-registering include your name, address, phone and age in the email. Tournament organizers already have players ages 13 to 86 years registered to play. Case by case exceptions will be considered for those younger than 12. There are currently 13 tables filled with players from Georgia and Alabama. One of the pre-registered players played in the 2009 National Monopoly tournament and made it to the final table.
Sign-in on game day will run from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Contestants who were unable to pre-register are welcome to sign in during this period. The Towne Club will offer beverages and table snacks in the morning at no charge. After a short rules review the first round will start around 10 a.m. A semifinal round of four tables is set to begin at noon and will narrow the field down to the finalists. The championship match will played on a Collector’s Edition board around 2 p.m.
