Falcon Field Civil Air Patrol Squadron held a change of cadet leadership ceremony on Thursday evening, August 19, at Union Methodist Church, Peachtree City, where the CAP unit meets every Thursday night at 7 p.m. The incoming Cadet Commander, 17 year-old Cadet/Maj. Aaron Pendleton of Brooks who is home schooled, received the unit flag from Lt. Col Greg Clasen, Squadron Commander. In the same ceremony, 17 year-old Cadet/1st Lt. Daniel Schulz of Peachtree City, a senior at McIntosh High School, was named Cadet Deputy Commander.

Squadron Commander, Lt. Col. Greg Clasen of Peachtree City, a pilot for Delta Air Lines and a graduate of the U. S. Air Force Academy, remarking on the selection process for the new head cadet, said, “Our squadron is blessed with a wealth of cadet talent, and that alone made the choice difficult. So, what the selection board recommended, and what I did, was to appoint both Cadets Pendleton and Schulz, with Pendleton to serve first, and Schulz to follow”.

The Peachtree City Squadron, officially designated GA-116, is one of the highest rated and largest squadrons in the CAP Georgia Wing. For more information please visit the CAP website at GoCivilAirPatrol.com and our local squadron website at www.GAWG.CAP.gov/GA116.
