McIntosh students receive American Legion awards

Two graduating seniors have been selected to receive the 2010 American Legion School Award for McIntosh High School, presented by Fayette County Post 105.  The award recognizes two seniors for their qualities of courage, honor, leadership, patriotism, scholarship and service.  Legionnaire Dave Niebes, left, is shown congratulating Drew Forde, Class of 2010.  Drew is an Honor Graduate,  a Junior Marshall, member of MHS Orchestra for four years and will be attending Mercer University to study music.  Jenny Ampat received the School Award for a Young Woman.  Jenny was selected Miss McIntosh 2010, had one of the lead roles in the production of “Footloose” and is in the Georgia Singers.   In the fall, she will be attending LSU and plans to study vocal performance and music education.  Shown on the right is Legionnaire Robert Ladd.
