In a time when so many health care workers are stretched to their limits due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Braelinn Stars are showing their thanks.
School counselor Heather Wible organized “Braelinn Stars Spread Kindness,” a campaign of gratitude at her school. Wible was inspired to help by her best friend who is a nurse at Piedmont Fayette. Her friend talked about the immense emotional toll the pandemic is taking on health care workers.
Students, staff, and families collected donations of snacks and other items for the doctors, nurses, and staff at Piedmont Fayette Hospital, and every class made cards, colored pictures, or wrote letters to lift the spirits of their health care heroes.
“Braelinn is a Leader in Me school that works to instill in our students the importance of service learning. In a time where it’s easy to feel helpless, we showed our students the importance of kindness and being generous!” said Wible. “The pandemic is a bigger problem than any one person, but even the smallest acts of kindness can have a huge impact.”
