Stay sharp this summer with Get Georgia Reading

The long days of summer are a perfect time to nestle in with a good book, and the Georgia Dept. of Education is offering up the resources for readers to stay sharp over the break. The Get Georgia Reading initiative offers free digital books, as well as traditional book lists, to get you reading right now.

Access a wealth of free online resources via the myON platform with these simple steps:

1. Visit www.myon.com/login/index.html to get registered

2. Enter the following information:

• School Name: Get Georgia Reading, Georgia Campaign for Grade-Level Reading (Note: DO NOT cut and paste. Start typing “Get Georgia…)

• Username: fayettecounty
• Password: read

3. Click on the Sign In button, select a book, and start reading!

Last year, kids throughout the state read 46,757 books and spent 1,196,588 hours reading. This year, the GADOE is challenging Georgia to top last year’s numbers by achieving the goal of 1 million minutes read and 70,000 books completed.
