Local entertainers go head to head competing for the coveted first place win in the Third Annual Open Mic Night at the Fred Amphitheater. Saturday, May 7 come out and cheer for your favorite artist as they face a live audience and panel of judges. Winners take home not only bragging rights but the opportunity to perform as an opening act for one of the concerts in the 2011 BMW of South Atlanta Summer Concert Series at the Fred. The “ticket” for the night is a Fred wrist band that may be purchased for $5 in advance or $10 the night of the show at the Box Office.
A full night of entertainment starts when Open Mic kicks off at 7 p.m. as bands and individuals playing everything from cover songs to original works, trying to win over the judges and the crowd. Participants will be judged on stage presence, musical ability, voice quality and overall crowd appeal. Gates will open at 6:30 p.m.
“We are looking forward to a fun night at the Fred with Open Mic,” says Nancy Price, Amphitheater Manager. “Part of what makes the night so much fun is the variety of music you get to hear and having the crowd cheer on their favorites.”
Performing as part of Open Mic night will be: Anonymous featuring Just Ice, Atul Ahuja, Audio Distortion Band, CAPO 3, Chrome Highway, David Collins, Easy 85, Ella Sivertsen, Final Answer Band, FLUX, Joyce Gruschow and Second Chance, Matthew Rivers, Paige McCauley & The Band, The Peach State Rockers, Phil Griffin & The Malachi Project, Quarters Road, Reign, Tymbral, and Vanessa Deliz & the Last Minute Band.
The Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater is a 2,500 seat state-of-the art facility owned and operated by the city of Peachtree City.
