“It’s a good time for great cause,” explains Linda Walker, bass player and founding member of Vintage Vixens, the all-female band performing at “Yappy Hour,” a special live musical performance combined with a pet food drive to help the Newnan-Coweta Humane Society (NCHS). The band covers hits from the ‘60s and ‘70s plus one special animal-themed song just for this show, to be announced.

“It’s great to play a gig in Newnan but we wanted it to be more than that,” says Walker. “My daughter (Robin Stewart) volunteers with the Newnan-Coweta Humane Society so it was a no-brainer to have the show also help NCHS.”

Hosted by The Alamo in downtown Newnan (whose owner Amy Murphy is a known animal lover), “Yappy Hour” will be Saturday, September 10. Local favorites Julie LaFond and John McCollough open the show which starts at 7:00 p.m.

Admission is $10 plus a donation of cat/kitten or dog/puppy food. Each admission purchased receives a door prize ticket. Drawings will be held throughout the event.

Newnan-Coweta Humane Society is a 501(c)3 all-volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing the number of pets euthanized at Coweta County Animal Control in Newnan through rescue, spay/neuter, foster programs, and community awareness. Visit www.NCHSRescue.org for more information.
