Students shine in Falcons contest

The Atlanta Falcons offered Georgia’s middle and high school students an opportunity to compete in the inaugural Black History Month Writing Contest during the month of February. Two of Fayette’s middle school students took top honors in the competition.

Lindsey George of Bennett’s Mill Middle, pictured above, took first place in the middle school division for her poem describing the vision of Martin Luther King, Jr. if he were still alive. As the first-place winner, Lindsey will receive four tickets to a 2016 Falcons regular season home game, four pregame sideline passes to a 2016 regular season home game, and an official Atlanta Falcons autographed item.

Also placing in the competition is Breanna Kozusko of Rising Starr Middle who took third place in the middle school division. She will receive a $50 gift card to OfficialFalconsGear.com and an official Atlanta Falcons autographed item.

The contest required students to write an original poem or essay that was 500 to 1,500 words answering one of three prompted questions.
