The McIntosh Chiefs boys varsity lacrosse team has had its best start in school history, winning its first eight games without a loss.
The three latest wins were over Benedictine Military School, Northgate and Riverwood. The team, led by new head coach Darren Delfosse, has also recorded victories over top-ranked teams from Decatur and St. Pius.
In the 13-11 win over Benedictine the top scorer was Patrick Anderson with three goals, followed by Zach Anderson with two goals.
Garrett LeClaire and Graham Davis shared face off duties with each achieving a 65 percent win average. Goalie Ryan Mathison saved eight shots from the net.
The Chiefs blasted Northgate 23-1 last Monday with Zach Anderson setting a single-game team record of nine goals. He is a freshman.
After Wednesday’s 13-7 victory over Riverwood, the Chiefs have 122 total points while giving up 42.
Next week on the schedule is an important matchup against Marist.
