Midwest Food Bank Georgia is celebrating 15 years of serving families in need with a community anniversary celebration on Friday, October 23, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its Peachtree City warehouse.

The free event will feature live music, barbecue from M25 Barbecue, frozen treats, and a special proclamation from Peachtree City Mayor Kim Learnard recognizing the nonprofit’s contributions to the community.

Since opening its Georgia Division in October 2011 with just nine nonprofit agency partners, Midwest Food Bank has grown to serve more than 260 nonprofit organizations throughout the Southeast. The food bank provides nutritious food at no cost to its agency partners, which distribute it to individuals and families facing food insecurity.

In 2025 alone, Midwest Food Bank Georgia distributed more than $38 million worth of food, helping its nonprofit partners serve more than 300,000 people.

The organization’s work is supported by food donors, financial contributors, corporate partners, and thousands of volunteers who help make its food distribution efforts possible.

“For 15 years, this community has embraced our mission and helped us grow into what we are today,” said Pat Burke, executive director of Midwest Food Bank Georgia. “This celebration is an opportunity to recognize the incredible volunteers, donors, and agency partners who make our work possible. We are deeply grateful for their support and look forward to continuing to serve together for many years to come.”

The anniversary celebration will also give visitors an opportunity to meet the Midwest Food Bank team, learn more about its hunger relief programs, and celebrate the community partnerships that have supported the organization since 2011.

The event will take place at Midwest Food Bank Georgia, 220 Parkade Court in Peachtree City. Admission is free, and community members are encouraged to RSVP online.

Midwest Food Bank is a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to alleviating hunger and malnutrition and providing disaster relief. Its Georgia Division serves nonprofit agencies throughout Georgia and the Southeast, distributing food and essential supplies at no cost.
