0The path bridge over Lake Peachtree on Ga. Highway 54 is open and back in use after being closed for repairs for nearly four weeks.
The bridge was closed for repairs on May 19 and re-opened on June 17, City Clerk Betsy Tyler sid Thursday.
City staff previously said the repair was needed because the handrails on the bridge had fallen into disrepair.
While the closure prevented golf carts from using the path, it did not deter many walkers and runners who simply stepped over the guardrail and continued on their way.
The council in February awarded $56,000 to low bidder Beatty Construction.
