Fayette County Public Schools posted another standout showing on the 2025 College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI), seeing gains nearly across the board.

The CCRPI measures school, district, and state performance on five components: Content Mastery, Progress, Closing Gaps, Readiness, and Graduation Rate. Fayette County Public Schools outpaced the state averages in every category.

On Content Mastery, Fayette’s elementary schools scored 93.1 percent, compared to 68.0 for the state. Middle schools scored 92.7 to the state’s 65.6. High schools scored 94.0 to the state’s 69.2.

On Progress, Fayette’s elementary schools scored 96.8 to the state’s 86.1. Middle schools scored 92.8 to the state’s 83.1. High schools scored 90.2 to the state’s 82.2.

On Closing Gaps, Fayette’s elementary schools scored 90.7 to the state’s 75.0. Middle schools scored 91.7 to the state’s 86.3. High schools scored 79.2 to the state’s 71.3.

On Readiness, Fayette’s elementary schools scored 92.0, compared to 84.1 for the state. Middle Schools scored 92.8 to the state’s 83.2. High schools scored 83.9 to the state’s 75.4.

The Fayette County Public Schools four-year graduation rate of 95.4 outpaced the state rate of 87.2. The county’s rate increased from 94.3 last year.

Content Mastery includes student scores on statewide assessments in English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Progress measures how much growth students demonstrate in English language arts and mathematics and how well English learners are progressing toward English language proficiency. Closing Gaps measures how well schools meet annual improvement targets for student subgroups. Readiness includes literacy scores; student attendance; the percentage of students succeeding in “beyond the core” instruction; accelerated enrollment; pathway completion; and measures of college and career readiness. Graduation Rate includes both the 4- and 5-year graduation rate and is a component for high schools.

“This year’s College and Career Ready Performance Index scores show strong improvements in our students’ academic achievement and their preparation for life,” State School Superintendent Richard Woods said. “They also point the way toward areas where we can continue to grow and expand opportunities in all of Georgia’s public schools. I am proud of the teachers, leaders, and families who continue to work hard each day to produce strong results for Georgia’s students – and I’m proud of the students themselves. As the school districts highlighted here make clear, these are not just numbers and data points. When we see improvement in Georgia’s public schools, that has an impact on 1.7 million children – and that’s what matters most.”
