Coweta residents are beginning to take advantage of the early voting dates for the few contested races in the May 20 primaries.
Superintendent of Elections Jane Scoggins said as of Thursday afternoon 190 Coweta voters had cast their ballots.
The only contested races will be found in three seats on the Coweta County Board of Education.
Early voting runs through May 16 from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the voter registration office at 22 East Broad Street in Newnan. The office will also be open on Saturday, May 3, and again on Saturday, May 10 during the same hours.
The Coweta County Board of Education has three contested races.
District 1 school board member Amy Dees will face former educator Monica Terrell.
District 3 school board member Harry Mullins will square off against videographer Jane Horne.
District 4 school board member Graylin Ward will face commercial lender Linda Menk.
The primary races will be held May 20. The primary runoff voting date is July 22. The general election will be held Nov. 4.
