At McIntosh High School, success isn’t just measured on the scoreboard—it’s also about excellence in the classroom, leadership on campus, and character in the community. Each month, the school recognizes students and staff who exemplify what it means to be a well-rounded contributor to the McIntosh tradition. For the month of September, two standout student-athletes and one dedicated coach have earned recognition for their achievements both on and off the field.
Grace Aerstin
Softball – Academic Athlete of the Month
“Along with Grace’s tremendous accomplishments on the field (.614 avg., 27 hits, 21 stolen bases, .707 OBP), Grace has carried all A’s for the first 4 1/2 weeks of school as well. She is a phenomenal example of what we want a Lady Chief Softball Player and McIntosh Student Athlete to exhibit!” – Coach Nick Pou
Abagail Williams
Chiefette Dance – Academic Athlete of the Month
“Abigail is passionate about dance and brings a positive and upbeat energy to every single practice, and is well respected by her peers and coaches. She is a second-year Spirit member and first-year Competition dancer, and she works hard at obtaining new skills to help the overall competitiveness of our team.” – Coach Carmen Yarbrough
Nicholas Pou
McIntosh Coach of the Month
“Coach Pou has stepped in and done a great job with our girls softball team. He has overcome construction challenges and a tough out-of-conference schedule. Coach has built culture within his program and has created a great camaraderie between the coaches and the girls. Great job Coach Pou and Assistants.” – Dr. Jason Carrera, Athletic Director
