Students and staff of Fayette’s public schools will honor local veterans on Veteran’s Day, Monday, November 11, with special concerts, parades, assemblies, and performances.
All veterans, active or retired, and their families are invited to attend any of the school events that are being planned in their honor. Contact the schools for additional information about scheduled events. Many receptions are being held in conjunction with activities, so veterans are asked to let schools know that they are planning to attend.

Here is a sampling of some of the planned events happening throughout the county.
• Inman Elementary will host a breakfast followed by a parade.
• Spring Hill Elementary will have an assembly in the cafeteria starting at 8:30 a.m. followed by a reception. Veterans will also be given a tour of the school.

• Peeples Elementary will host a Veterans Day Walk at 1:45 p.m. Veterans will walk around the school while students and staff wave flags and sing patriotic songs.
• Braelinn Elementary will have a breakfast starting at 7:45 a.m. followed by a walk of honor and parade at 8:55 a.m. in the school’s bus loop. A fire engine and marching band will kick-off festivities.
