The count-down to “school’s out” is underway. In a few weeks, thousands of children will be saying, “Mom, I’m bored!” Don’t despair, though, there are hundreds of options in and around Fayette County to keep those minds and young bodies busy.

Bricks 4 Kidz opens a “classroom” in June for all things Lego. Kick off the summer with a Bricks 4 Girls “Friends” camp, Star Wars space camp or preschoolers camp. Wendell Coffee Golf Center offers Junior Golf Camps designed to teach children the basics of golf and how fun the sport can be. Windy Oaks Farm for equestrians offers summer camps June 4-8 and July 9-13. Located less than one mile outside Peachtree City, Windy Oaks camps teach riders horse care skills including grooming, bathing and tacking their horse. PTC Combat Fitness will offer the PTC Fitness Combat Camp for ages 5-12. The camp, offered Mondays-Friday, 9 a.m.-noon, June 4-8, 18-122 and July 9-13 and 23-27 is $120 a week. The camp will teach boxing technique, wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, games and fun and how to stand your ground when facing a bully. Drop off begins at 8:45 a.m. Campers are asked to bring a lunch.
