If you had an opportunity to live forever, would you take it? That’s the question several characters face in Southside Theatre Guild’s production of “Tuck Everlasting” and audiences are sure to discuss the hypothetical question after watching.
“Tuck Everlasting” is based on the beloved children’s/young adult novel by Natalie Babbit. It follows the story of lonely child, Winnie Foster meeting The Tuck Family, learning their magical secret, and doing everything she can to help them over the course of several exciting days. The show is directed by Eliza Marbutt and features a cast filled with several newcomers to the Fairburn stage, as well as some fan favorites.
“It’s been nice to reunite with some friends from previous productions, but I’m always excited to meet new performers and introduce them to our theater,” said Mike Boylan, President of Southside Theatre Guild and appearing as The Stranger in the show. “We have several young performers who are sure to make an impact on our stage for years to come and Eliza is proving herself to be a directing tour-de-force.”
“Tuck Everlasting” runs Thursdays through Sundays Apr. 9-19. Showtimes are 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturday, April 18 and 2:30 p.m. for Saturday, April 11 and Sunday performances. Tickets are on sale at stgplays.com and are $21 for adults and $13 for children.
