J.M. Huber Corporation (Huber) recently awarded a
grant of $25,000 to The Joseph Sams School to support their adult day program, The Hive.
The grant was part of Huber’s global commitment and initiative – called Huber Helps – to donate
1% of its net income annually to philanthropic causes around the world. The Company
specifically focuses on housing, education & wellness, and environmental causes as part of its
strategic approach to community engagement and philanthropy.
Huber employee Taylor Harp, Internal Audit Manager at Huber’s J.M. Huber Corporation,
submitted an Impact Your Community funding application on behalf of The Joseph Sams School
in August, 2025. The submission was one of several globally that was approved for funding in
2025.
The Impact Your Community funding program is one component of Huber Helps that invites
employees to apply for funding that can be used to contribute to projects that can benefit a
community for multiple years or generations. The goal is to support projects that offer Huber the
opportunity to leave a lasting legacy in communities around the world where Huber operates.
Projects were evaluated on the following criteria:
• Aligns with Huber’s areas of focus: housing, education & wellness, and the environment.
• Provides multi-year benefits to the community.
• Organization has a robust governance structure and is a registered charity or its
equivalent in its jurisdiction.
The Joseph Sams School, a nonprofit organization serving children and adults with
developmental disabilities, will use the grant to enhance programming at The Hive, ensuring
multi-year benefits for students and their families.
Carol McLain, Program Lead for The Hive, emphasized the transformative impact of the grant:
“This funding allows us to expand opportunities for our adult participants, ensuring they have a
safe, engaging, and supportive environment to continue learning and growing. It is more than
financial support—it is a vote of confidence in the value of our program and the lives it touches.”
Amy Murray, Executive Director of The Joseph Sams School, highlighted the importance of
community collaboration: “Partnerships like this demonstrate the power of working together tostrengthen our community. Huber’s generosity helps us build a legacy of inclusion and
opportunity, and we are deeply grateful for their commitment to education and wellness.”
