Congratulations to Citizen of the Week: Reggie Jones!
With a contagious smile and a servant-leader spirit, Reggie Jones has quickly become one of Peachtree City’s most recognizable faces—especially if you’ve stopped by the new Trader Joe’s.
Jones, who serves as the store’s manager, helped lead the location to a record-setting launch. On opening day, it posted the highest first-day sales for any Trader Joe’s in the state of Georgia.
Originally from the Atlanta area, Jones came to Trader Joe’s after managing at Under Armour. What started as a part-time job quickly turned into a calling. “I saw how great the company was,” he said, “and I jumped ship.”
Over the past 20 years, he’s worked his way up through the ranks, most recently managing the Chastain store in Sandy Springs before being tapped to open the Peachtree City location. And while he’s still new to the community, he’s already felt right at home.
“The people have been great—welcoming me with open arms,” Jones said. “It’s that Southern hospitality. I haven’t had one bad vibe.”
Outside of work, Jones is a fitness enthusiast and distance runner who enjoys 5Ks and 10Ks. He also loves craft beer and craft whiskey, and is the proud father of a 15-year-old daughter who excels at basketball and academics.
Jones says his leadership philosophy centers around kindness and lasting impressions. “Treat others the way you want to be treated,” he said, citing Maya Angelou’s famous words: “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
When asked about the store’s famously popular mandarin orange chicken, Jones confirmed it sold out on day one—but not to worry. “We get deliveries every day. We won’t be running out again this week,” he said with a smile.
