The Citizen is proud to feature exceptional student-athletes from across our community each week. Whether they’re leading their teams to victory, showing strong character on and off the field, or making steady progress in their sport, these athletes represent the very best of local youth. We celebrate their hard work, dedication, and leadership in schools, leagues, and clubs throughout Fayette and Coweta counties.
This week, weāre proud to feature these athletes:

East Coweta High School
Ivory Gilbert
Flag Football
Ivory leads our flag football team on and off the field, including catching the game winning touchdown against Carrollton.

McIntosh High School
Caroline Moses
Dance Team
“Caroline is a leader on the team, and demonstrates leadership through her work ethic, ability, and passion for the team. She is always encouraging her teammates and wants the best for everyone on the team!” ā Coach Yarbrough

Starrās Mill High School
Devin Starr
Wrestling
“Devin is one of our team captains this year and that honor is well deserved ā he has consistently been one of the hardest working wrestlers in the room and in the classroom all four years. He has fought through a season ending injury his sophomore year to become a team leader and pre-season ranked in his weight class.”

Whitewater High School
Minna McGraw
Swimming
Minna is entering her third year with the swim program and continues to impress with her steady growth, leadership, and maturity in and out of the pool. She leads by example, showing younger swimmers what dedication, accountability, and teamwork look like every day. Minnaās coachability and strong communication make her a reliable teammate and a positive force within the group. With her work ethic and determination, weāre confident sheāll make waves this season and have an outstanding showing at state.
