After receiving a health score of 29 on April 22nd and 31 on May 2nd, Green Ginger has received a score of 66 after a third inspection on May 16. While trending in the right direction, this score still received a “U” for unsatisfactory.
The restaurant received a 66 after the inspector found multiple errors including single-use containers being reused, wet nesting of containers, and accumulation of debris on the inside of equipment.
After their second failure, the restaurant closed for cleaning until May 6, which was a voluntary closure. According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, a third failure involves asking the establishment to “voluntarily close until all violations are corrected and/or have enforcement action taken to suspend or revoke the food service permit.”
The fate of Green Ginger remains unknown as to whether they will have their permit revoked or simply close for cleaning again. If it is the latter, the three consecutive failures could be detrimental to the reputation of the restaurant, potentially causing troubles for the restaurant upon reopening. The Citizen requested an interview by phone and in person, but no managers were available to speak with us.
Ichibian, who had also failed their health inspection on April 22nd with a score of 47 was also retested on May 16, receiving a score of 96 this time around.
