Oak Grove Elementary has been selected to receive the 2025 Student Support Team Association of Georgia Educators (SSTAGE) STAR Award for Promising Practices.

The Student Support Team Association for Georgia Educators provides leadership through collaboration, learning, and advocacy to enhance educator effectiveness and student success. The STAR Award considers key characteristics of effective implementation of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) practices: Systematic problem-solving process at each tier, system of instructional supports/resources, system of behavioral supports/resources, system of assessment and progress monitoring, job-embedded professional learning and ongoing teacher supports, and a systematic plan for parent/family communication and involvement.

Dr. Joan F. Whitehead-Freeman, SSTAGE Executive Director, applauded the school in the award announcement.

“Oak Grove Elementary School’s enthusiasm, team collaboration, dedication, and understanding of MTSS will be an inspiration to educational leaders and teachers across the state of Georgia.”

Team Oak Grove Elementary School will be invited to present at the Promising Practices Conference in January 2026.
