On Sunday, April 6 at 3:00 pm the Peachtree Wind Ensemble presents “THERE’S NO BUSINESS LIKE SHOW BUSINESS” a community concert.  Admission is free and all are welcome to come listen to the wonderful musical selections.

The 75-member concert band will be presenting music from shows and movies, such as, Wicked, World’s Greatest Showman, Favorites of Rodgers and Hammerstein plus many more classic show tunes.

Mike Daniel has been the Conductor of The Peachtree Wind Ensemble for 15 years. He said, “We decided a pop style concert would be fun.  The music consists of familiar tunes from various musicals, movies and TV, reaching all ages.”

The concert band is made up of volunteer musicians, ranging in age from 13 to 80 plus years of age. According to John Robertson, band president, “The band is a way for me to stay connected to something I have a passion for and been doing since Elementary School.  It allows me and our members to connect with other musicians and work towards the common goal of making music as an ensemble all while sharing our talents with the community.”

The Peachtree Wind Ensemble is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation and has served as Georgia’s Southern Crescent Community Band since 1991.  The non-audition, 75-plus-member ensemble offers musicians and the community opportunities to enjoy music together in and around Fayette and Coweta Counties, GA.  Members come from all professions and include amateur musicians, music professionals, former musicians returning to playing as well as college, high school and exceptional middle school students.  The band shares a passion for music and believes that a community rich in the arts, flourishes.
