Mrs. Virginia Bowling Holliday, 87, of Hogansville, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025.
Born February 13, 1938, in Trion, Mrs. Holliday was the daughter of the late Claude and Ida Kilgore Bowling. She was a longtime resident of East Point and retired from Evelyn West Elementary School in Fairburn. Mrs. Holliday had lived in Hogansville since 2012 and was a member of the Hogansville Church of God. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and loved to cook, especially for her family. Mrs. Holliday loved her family and God with her whole heart.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandy Lumm of Hogansville; grandson and granddaughter in-law, Jason and Gail Mullins of Greenville; niece, Pam Croy of Summerville; and a nephew, Johnny and Janice Daniel. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Holliday was preceded in death by her husband, Nealeas Holliday; and three sisters, Marie Nix, Elizabeth Daniel, and Clarice Ingle.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Randall Hodge will officiate and interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Sharon Memorial Gardens in Tyrone.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Tuesday evening.
The family requests that Mrs. Holliday’s favorite color red be worn by those attending her service.
