2025 STAR Students, Teachers honored

The newest STARs are shining as the 2025 Professional Association of Georgia Educators’ Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program honorees were recently recognized.

To be nominated as their school’s STAR Student, one must have the highest SAT score and also be in the top 10 percent of their class based on GPA. Each STAR Student then chooses a STAR Teacher that has influenced their learning.

Fayette County High’s STAR Student is Sheefa Keshwani, and the STAR Teacher is Angie Elliott.

McIntosh High’s STAR Student is Vedita Sawhney, and the STAR Teacher is Jacqueline Burgess.

Sandy Creek High’s STAR Student is Madison Lohr, and the STAR Teacher is Kelly Gallman.

Starr’s Mill High’s STAR Student is Ella Griswold, and the STAR Teacher is Susan King.

Whitewater High’s STAR Student is Carpenter Ray, and the STAR Teacher is Christine Brand.
