On December 14, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the Fayetteville City Cemetery will stand as a place of solemn remembrance as the Civil Air Patrol and Wreaths Across America (WAA) join forces to honor our nation’s fallen heroes. This ceremony, hosted by the Peachtree City-Falcon Field Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol, is part of the national Wreaths Across America campaign, which aims to “Remember, Honor, and Teach.”
Everyone in the Fayetteville community and surrounding areas is invited to participate in this heartfelt tribute. The ceremony will begin promptly at 12:00 PM, marking a moment of collective reflection and appreciation for the service and sacrifice of our fallen heroes.
Wreaths Across America is a non-profit organization dedicated to placing wreaths on the graves of veterans across the United States, ensuring that the sacrifices of our military heroes are never forgotten. This year, the ceremony at Fayetteville City Cemetery will be a powerful expression of gratitude, community unity, and respect for those who gave everything in defense of our freedoms.
The highlight of the event will be the wreath-laying ceremony itself, where each attendee will have the opportunity to place a wreath on the grave of a veteran. This simple yet profound act is a symbol of our gratitude and commitment to never forgetting those who served. No veteran’s grave will be left unrecognized, and all are invited to share in this meaningful moment.
In addition to attending the ceremony, those who wish to contribute by sponsoring wreaths can do so through the Wreaths Across America website. The deadline to order wreaths is December 10, 2024, ensuring they arrive in time for the event. We encourage all to consider making a donation to help ensure every hero’s grave is honored.
Together, we will remember. Together, we will honor. And together, we will teach future generations about the sacrifices made for the freedoms we cherish.
