Gibbs honored at GACTE conference

Virginia Gibbs was among 58 career, technical, and agricultural educators who were honored by the Georgia Association for Career & Technical Education (GACTE) during its 77th Annual Summer Conference.

Gibbs, Coordinator of Innovative Partnership Development for Fayette County Public Schools, was nominated by her peers and selected by their division’s awards committee. She was presented with an award naming her as the 2024 Engineering &Technology Education Division’s (eTED) winner of the Carl D. Perkins Community Service Award. Each division winner was then considered as a nominee for the corresponding state award.

The conference drew over 1,700+ CTAE educators from across the State of Georgia. Founded in 1926, the Georgia Association for Career and Technical Education is the largest education association in Georgia dedicated to the advancement of education that prepares youth and adults for successful careers.
