FCHS Hall of Fame announces new inductees

The Fayette County High School Hall of Fame will induct seven new members at its banquet and induction ceremony on Saturday, February 3, 2024. The inductees will also be introduced between the varsity basketball games against Trinity Christian on Friday, February 2.

Three distinguished alumni/alumna, three athletes, and one coach will be inducted. The inductees are Jeff Brady, Jimmy Dupree, Lisa Masters, Noel Johnson, Allison Turner Picchetti, Channing Welch, and John Strickland.

Jeff Brady, class of 1987, is a retired Rear Admiral in the US Navy specializing in medicine and is currently Senior VP at Highmark Health.

Jimmy Dupree, class of 1973, has been a founding pastor and senior pastor at several churches as has served as president of several Christian education institutions.

Lisa Masters, class of 1981, is a senior executive for Bank of America and has specialized in human resources, including as Global Head of Executive Development.

Noel Johnson, class of 2009, was a 3-time All-State basketball star who competed at Clemson and Auburn, as well as professionally in Europe.

Allison Turner Picchetti, class of 2001, was a 4-year cheerleader, including 2 years as captain. She cheered at the University of South Carolina for 3 years and one year for NFL Europe while studying abroad.

Channing Welch, class of 2006, was a 3-year star in both football and basketball. He competed in football at Furman and Savannah State and currently is a coach at FCHS.

John Strickland was a multi-sport coach at FCHS, and, after two runner-up finishes, led the girls basketball team to the state Class AAAA State Championship in 2011. He was also named the Georgia High School Coach of the Year in 2011. Strickland passed in 2019.
