Kedron Elementary 4th graders put their new geometry skills to practice by learning origami.

Origami, the art of paper folding, incorporated many geometry standards and concepts the students were learning, including symmetry, angles, line segments, and shapes, as well as fine motor skills, listening, and following directions.

Teacher Sue Keirn was thrilled to see the students so engaged in the project.

“They took away a sense of pride and accomplishment, as well as an appreciation for origami and a real-life application of math skills in creating a holiday gift.”
