Numerous volunteers from local congregations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints traveled to Louisiana to assist with initial clean up following Hurricane Ida. The Peachtree City congregation volunteers were led by Bishop Ben Johnson and included congregation members Dan Worthington, his daughter Katie Worthington, and Jeff Stebar with his son, Brian Stebar. They were among many church member volunteers who traveled from LDS congregations all over the southeast area to help those affected by Hurricane Ida.

Volunteers, who camped out while on site, traveled to Louisiana on Friday and worked through Sunday before heading back home. Doubtless there will be many more volunteer trips to Louisiana to continue the Ida clean-up, as well as clean up that may be needed following Tropical Storm Nicholas which is currently bringing flooding to Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi.
