Ongoing list of Fayette County Covid-19 fatalities — Georgia Department of Public Health

UPDATED WEDNESDAY, MAY 19 — The graphic below is provided by the Georgia Department of Public Health. It represents a running list of persons who have succumbed to the Covid-19 virus who were Fayette residents at the time of their deaths.

The list will be updated from time to time with the latest reports from DPH. The list below is current through WEDNESDAY, MAY 19, 2021 (155 fatalities from pandemic beginning, 1 added this date). The most recent fatalities were as follows:

Fayette residents’ deaths — March ended with a total of 141 fatalities caused by Covid-19, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health. April began with 1 Covid death on April 1: a white female, age 69, with a pre-existing medical condition. Two more fatalities were reported April 7: a white male, age 65, with no underlying medical conditions; and a 76-year-old Hispanic/Latino female, also with no other underlying medical conditions.

On April 9, an African-American male succumbed to the virus. He had no other underlying medical conditions.

On April 10, another 2 fatalities were reported: an Hispanic white male, age 74, and a white male, age 77. Neither had an underlying medical condition.

One fatality was reported Monday, April 12: an African-American male, 42, with an underlying medical condition.

On April 14, DPH reported 3 Fayette fatalities: a 90-year-old white male and a 63-year-old white female, both with no other medical conditions; and a 40-year-old Hispanic white male with an underlying medical condition.

On Saturday, April 24, DPH reported one new fatality: a white female, age 90, with no underlying medical conditions.

On Friday, April 30, one new fatality was reported by DPH: a white female, age 45, with underlying medical conditions.

On Tuesday, May 11, 2021, DPH reported one new Covid fatality for a Fayette resident: a white male, age 79, with no underlying medical conditions.

The county added its second fatality for the month on Wednesday, May 19, 2021: an African-American male, age 82, with underlying medical conditions.

The chart below lists the age of the victim, the ethnicity, the race, the sex, the county of residence, and YES or NO as to whether the victim had an underlying medical condition, known as comorbidity.
