No mandatory masks and no required social distancing —

Fayette County members of the Class of 2021 will mark a return of some normalcy as they march down the aisle in front of their parents and hundreds of friends and well-wishers at the five high schools May 28.

Here’s the announcement:

“Fayette County Public Schools is excited to return to traditional pomp and circumstance by giving our 2021 graduates and their families an in-person graduation experience.

“All graduations will take place at each high school’s stadium on May 28 at 7 p.m. Spectator attendance will not be limited; therefore, face masks are encouraged, but not required.

“Our high schools look forward to providing memorable and celebratory events that honor and recognize the Class of 2021. The school system congratulates this year’s graduates, and wishes them the best in their future endeavors.”
